We are located in Umaji Village, Kochi Prefecture, an area blessed with forests and water. Our role is to reexamine forests from the perspective of the cycle of life and to revitalize them.
So, everything related to forest growth is our job.
We are still a young wood company, but we aim to put down firm roots in the earth by focusing on sustainable forestry and human resource development.

Umaji Village is a " forest village "
Umaji Village is one of the leading "forest villages" in Japan, with forests accounting for 96% of the village's area .
As a producer of high-quality timber, typified by Yanase cedar, it has supported Tosa's forestry industry since the time of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and even after it became the Tosa Domain.
However, with the changing times, forestry is at a major turning point.
Furthermore, in today's world where global environmental issues are a major concern, forests are not only seen as a source of timber but also as a source of water and air, which are essential to our lives.
In response, in 2000, Umajimura established Ecoas Umajimura Co., Ltd. , a third sector company responsible for creating a new forestry system.
Based on the policy that gave our company its name , "Tomorrow will be ecological, and someday we will connect to eternal forests with ecosystem circulation," we will practice all of the following : "Growing forests," "Collecting forests," "Processing forests," "Selling forests," and "Giving back to forests ."

The forestry industry in Umaji dates back to the time of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, when Chosokabe Motochika, the lord of the Tosa domain at the time, presented the area with timber.
